Our Grade 2 students thought they were heading out on a field trip—but they ended up with chores! A huge thank you to Farmer Nicole and the Irvine Agriculture Discovery Centre for a fantastic morning of hands-on learning. Students rolled up their sleeves to help with real farm chores, including feeding livestock and thinning the strawberry patch. As a bonus, each student got to dig up and take home their own strawberry plant! Along the way, we learned where our food comes from, discovered the important role bees play in agriculture, and even made a healthy smoothie treat. What a fantastic morning of hands on learning!

Our students were excited to learn about the 2026 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games coming to Medicine Hat! A big thank you to Misty, Cara, and Gavin for sharing their experiences and helping students learn more about the Special Olympics. I'm preparation, our students created a banner that will be displayed during the Games and made bracelets for athletes' welcome packages. The Games are just around the corner! Volunteers are still needed, and the Opening Ceremonies and all events are free for the public to attend. We can't wait to cheer on the athletes!
